I recently posted a photo of my home on Instagram that I had turned into watercolor.  The photo is in this blog post.  I posted a poll on Instagram that asked if you knew how to turn photo into watercolor.  The majority (95%) of you didn’t know how and wanted me to show you.  I have great news…..it’s really easy!  And you can do it right from your phone.

With this tool you can easily turn simple, everyday photos into framable art for your home or gifts for friends.  For Christmas last year I took a photo of my friend’s house.  She had just moved in and I wanted to give her something special so……

I turned it into a watercolor, framed it and added a cute banner to the frame that said “There’s no place like home”.  I wish I had the foresight to take a photo of the project to show you, but I don’t.  However,  I LOVED the way it turned out.  To this day it sits on a table in her family room.

Here are some examples of everyday photos that can become art.

All you have to do is download the APP “Waterlogue” to your phone.  It is very simple to use.  You open a photo in the app and it turns it into a watercolor picture.  You choose the depth of the art.  That’s it!  There are a few different apps available, but I really like this one because it is SO easy.  When I did the gift for my friend, I loaded the picture of her home into the app, changed it into the desired depth of color, saved it to my photos, Airdropped it into my Mac, printed it off and framed it.  It took less than 30 minutes to have a meaningful, original gift.

Have fun with this app.  Think about a baby shower gift and turning a picture of a pregnant mom into watercolor, a graduation gift for a grad with a close up in a cap and gown, a new home gift for a friend (like mine), art for your home of things within your home that actually mean something….the possibilities are endless.

Enjoy!
